Words from China's new leader Xi Jinping's first message
"Our people have an ardent love for life. They wish to have better education, more stable jobs, more income, greater social security, better medical and health care, improved housing conditions, and a better environment. They want their children to have sound growth, have good jobs and lead a more enjoyable life. To meet their desire for a happy life is our mission."
"just as China needs to learn more about the world, so does the world need to learn more about China."
China has excelled in many fields; but the biggest challenge for them now would be the bridging the gap between the income levels of the people. Just like in capitalist systems the disparities of income of people will pose a challenge to deal with. They may have good examples to learn from the British and some European nations on the social security systems (something that Gorbachev got impressed with; but went too fast in perestroika that gave other ideas to politicians like Yeltsin to oust him and grab the power)!
Of course now there is nothing called capitalist or Socialist regimes; all have matched and mixed the blend of both.Once the bread and shelter is available, human beings like to look for the liberty and more rights. Can the 'socialistic, China look for the wider answers to the aspirations of the people?
