Ever since the fall of monarchy in Nepal, the sounds and sentiments of a New Nepal have been reverberating in, around Nepal and in the minds of overseas Nepaliese and their well wishers.
The political cycle has come full circle now (the Maoists led Government having been installed once again; albeit with the different face! Dr. Baburam Bhattarai; whom I always considerd as the prospective formidable Prime Minister, is now elected the 35th PM of Nepal. Not just me, most people felt that he would be the dream PM for Nepal. He is the liberal and polite face of the Party and commands respect within and outside his Party.
I'm not too sure about the timing of his taking over (for being the dream PM; as he has to take all major political parties and interest groups along to make the Constitution happen, peace efforts to conclude, spearhead the economic and social prosperity of the people; and before that to get the Assembly term extended. He will always be shor tof the magic numbers of majority, for any constitutional matter; and that will test his leadership qualities, statesmanship and endeavours!
I am sure he has the capability to sail through all these issues and lead the country to prosperity and lasting peace; for a long time. Amen!
