I am an ardent fan and follower of the media and their reporting. The recent reporting on the differences on personal matters of the General Singh of the Army and the Defense Ministry, shows that media want to gain popularity, TRP, Viewership etc. at the cost of the image of the General, GOI and the India as a nation.
Why can't all this be left alone? The General for his individual grievance has every right to go the Court of Law (he did go)and has to accept the legal verdict (he did accept). Trying to sensational reporting on this first and then on bigger issues like the routine secret letter the General wrote to the Prime Minister, as part of his duty; and linking this and other issues like him revealing the 'graft offer' made to him; is highly deplorable.
These people think of their identity and TRP before the nation and individuals! Certainly the officers of the Defense and the civil service need to be left alone in the dutiful acts and personal grievances redressing.
And the General and the Defense officer must be debating all this too...'bloody media'
